V-Guard Smart 2.0
This privacy policy governs your use of the V-Guard Smart 2.0 (mobile application of VGIL(V-Guard Industries Ltd.)) for mobile devices. The application is intended to use features and functionalities of VGIL smart products.
User Provided Information
The Application obtains the information you provide when you download and register the Application. Registration with us is mandatory in order to be able to use the features of the Application.
When you register with us and use the Application, you generally provide
- Your name, country, email address, phone number, contact details and other registration information. Information you provide us when you contact us for help.
- The user's country is used to determine whether email or mobile number based registration can be offered to the user.

Automatically Collected Information
In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device, operating system information, way you use this Application, location, product information, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi access etc.
Location Access
When you use the VG Smart application, we may use GPS technology (or other similar technology) to determine your current location in order to operate advanced user-friendly features on our Smart Products (IRIS). VG-Iris automatically switches on the Water heater, when you reach the vicinity of your home, so that you get hot water readily available when you reach home. We will not share your current location with other users or partners.
Sharing Information
We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
- As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process.
- When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
- With our trusted services providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
- If www.vguard.in is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information.
Uninstalling the App
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
Deleting Your Information
You can delete your V-Guard Smart account at any time (including if
you want to revoke your consent to our use of your information
pursuant to applicable law) using our in-app deactivate account
feature. When you delete your V-Guard Smart account, your information
we no longer need to operate and provide our Services are deleted from
our servers. Deleting your account will delete your account info,
profile photo and all your products. Be mindful that if you only
uninstall V-Guard Smart from your device without using our in-app
deactivate my account feature, your information will be stored with us
for a longer period.
To deactivate your account in the V-Guard Smart 2.0 app, go to Profile
-> Settings.

Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing,” means using cookies on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information.
Data Protection
We are committed to safeguarding the personal information provided by users in accordance with India's data protection laws. We employ appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect user data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. While we are committed to safeguarding the personal information provided by users in accordance with applicable standards, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Users acknowledge and accept the inherent security risks of providing personal information online.
Legal Obligations
We process personal information to the extent this is necessary to:
- Comply with our legal requirements under applicable laws (e.g. tax and accounting obligations, obligations relating to product safety, warranties and consumer protection).
- Comply with court orders and subpoenas, and respond to legally binding requests from government, law enforcement agencies, public authorities and/or regulators.
Where we need your information to perform our contract with you or to comply with our legal obligations, you are required to provide this information to us. In other instances, you are not required to provide personal information, however, not doing so may impact the way you use our Services.

TERMS OF USE
By downloading or using the app, these terms will automatically apply to you – you should make sure therefore that you read them carefully before using the app. We are offering you this app to use for your own personal use without cost, but you should be aware that you cannot send it on to anyone else, and you’re not allowed to copy, or modify the app, any part of the app, or our trademarks in any way. You’re not allowed to attempt to extract the source code of the app, and you also shouldn’t try to translate the app into other languages, or make derivative versions. The app itself, and all the trade marks, copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights related to it, still belong to VGIL.
VGIL is committed to ensuring that the app is as useful and efficient as possible. For that reason, we reserve the right to make changes to the app or to charge for its services, at any time and for any reason. We will never charge you for the app or its services without making it very clear to you exactly what you’re paying for.
